As a teacher undergoing the recognition process or as a language support teacher in Bremen, this qualification in subject-specific language for schools (C1) will help you reach your goal more easily!
This specialized language qualification is a job-related language course aiming for C1 level. Commissioned by the Senator for Children and Education, we offer language instruction in which you will practice your specific vocabulary and be prepared for a wide variety of situations at school that require confident written or oral communication.

Requirements for participation:
You can participate in the specialist language for schools (C1) qualification…
- if you are a teacher in the recognition process and have already reached German language level B2.
- if you are a language support teacher in Bremen and have already reached German language level B2.
Contents:
You will practice your specific vocabulary and deepen your language knowledge to successfully master a wide variety of situations at school, both oral and written.
We will show you how to self-correct and design your own professional development learning process.
Topics:
- Module 1: Moderating conflicts among young people (40 hours plus 10 hours of guided self-study)
- Module 2: Dealing with classroom disruptions (40 hours plus 10 hours of guided self-study)
- Module 3: Understanding and writing educational texts, reading, writing and learning strategies (40 hours plus 10 hours of guided self-study)
- Module 4: Promoting participation and inclusion in schools – language resources, subject-specific terms and classroom language (40 hours plus 10 hours of guided self-study)
- Module 5: Preparation for the specialist language exam C1 (40 hours plus 20 hours of guided self-study)
At the end of the qualification, you will take a specialized language exam for "school" at language level C1 (based on the CEFR). In the exam, you will demonstrate whether you understand the linguistic requirements in various school situations and whether you can express yourself confidently and appropriately.
