As a teacher undergoing the recognition process or as a language support teacher in Bremen, this qualification in subject-specific language for schools (C1/C2) will help you reach your goal more easily!

This specialized language qualification is a job-related language course aiming for C2 level. Commissioned by the Senator for Children and Education, we offer you extensive language instruction in which you will learn subject-specific terminology and teaching language for diverse teaching scenarios, as well as how to present confidently. Role-appropriate communication, for example in parent-teacher conferences, is also practiced.

Requirements for participation

You can participate in the qualification "Specialized Language for Schools (C1/C2) Module 2"..

  • if you are a teacher in the recognition process and have already reached German language level C1.
  • if you are a language support teacher in Bremen and have already reached the German language level C1.

Contents

  • Module 1: Leading student-centered, differentiated and methodologically diverse lessons: Language resources, subject-specific terms and teaching language (40 hours plus 10 hours of guided self-study)
  • Module 2: Confident presentation in everyday school life (40 hours plus 10 hours of guided self-study)
  • Module 3: Actively shaping the educational partnership – communicating professionally (40 hours plus 10 hours of guided self-study)
  • Module 4: Independently and continuously managing one's own language acquisition (40 hours plus 10 hours of guided self-study)
  • Module 5: Preparation for the subject-specific language exam C2 (40 hours plus 20 hours of guided self-study)

At the end of the qualification, you will take a specialized language exam for "school" at language level C2 (based on the CEFR). In the exam, you will demonstrate whether you understand the linguistic requirements in various school situations and whether you can express yourself confidently and appropriately.
