The Bremen Working Group on Social Law aims to improve the exchange of information on social law and to connect practitioners and academics working in this field in Bremen. This will facilitate continuing education, discussion, and in-depth analysis. The working group focuses particularly on the connections between social law and other areas of law (e.g., family law and immigration law).
In Bremen, lawyers work in many places on social law:
- at the University of Bremen,
- at Bremen University of Applied Sciences,
- at the University of Public Administration,
- in many public authorities and corporations, e.g. the job center, health insurance funds, pension insurance institutions, employers' liability insurance associations,
- in associations and political bodies,
- in law firms and social counselling centers,
- at the Lower Saxony-Bremen State Social Court, the Bremen Social Court, the Bremen Administrative Court and the Bremen Higher Administrative Court.
