DMSG Bremen State Association.
The state association is a legally independent subdivision of the federal association and is also a member of the Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband (Parity Welfare Association).
The association's goal is to serve as a point of contact for people affected by MS and their families, providing advice and support on personal, professional, legal, and care-related issues and problems. We are happy to assist you in deciding which options are important and suitable for your current life situation.
Social counseling
For personal and family-related questions and problems, our comprehensive counseling service is available to you. There you will receive not only information and education about MS, but also advice and support for personal problems or family issues. We also offer information on MS clinics, neurologists, assistive devices, care, and housing. If our resources are exhausted, we will work together to find the next steps to help you.
Everyday support
Supporting and assisting people with multiple sclerosis in their daily lives is of particular importance to us. Our everyday support service is your point of contact for providing reassurance and guidance, or for developing coping strategies together.
Advice on holistic treatment methods
In this consultation, we provide you with an overview of complementary and alternative treatment methods that can activate the body's basic regulatory mechanisms and self-healing powers. We support you in a resource- and solution-oriented manner, with a focus on future development possibilities.
Plan Baby
Desire to have children, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and parenthood: If family planning is something you're considering, then you're undoubtedly grappling with many questions related to your MS diagnosis. The "Plan Baby" project, launched in partnership with the non-profit Hertie Foundation, offers nationwide support in this area.
The Bremen regional association offers confidential, comprehensive, and individualized advice on this topic. Please contact our advice center with your inquiry (Tel. 0421-32 66 19 or by email) ).
To ensure that your “Plan Baby with MS” is well taken care of, even with regard to medical questions, regional network partners as well as the initiator of the “MS and Fertility Registry” in Bochum, Dr. Kerstin Hellwig, are closely involved in the project and are the contact person for relevant questions.
Advice on objection procedures
Mr. Dierks (retired presiding judge of the Bremen Regional Court) offers advice on appeal procedures, for example, regarding disability ID cards or rehabilitation applications. If you are interested or require this service, please contact us, and we will connect you with the appropriate person. Registration with the Bremen office (by phone or email) is required.

MS Connect
Every illness has its own story and is always a personal, sensitive issue. MS is especially true. At the same time, MS shouldn't mean withdrawal, isolation, or deprivation. Sharing experiences and stories holds immense positive power. No one knows this better than we at the German Multiple Sclerosis Society. That's why networking, privacy, and security are so important to us on our MS Connect platform.
You operate in a protected environment, as MS Connect is not public. With MS Connect, you alone decide how much information others can share about you. MS Connect is a platform where you can exchange information about medication, jobs, or other topics close to your heart. You can create or join groups. Information on current MS-related topics is shared. Further information can be found on the MS Connect homepage at www.msconnect.de
