We are bringing more women into Bremen IT companies.
What makes our project special is that we don't require a university degree or even a high school diploma from the women we connect with suitable companies. Quite the opposite: we enable all women to find a suitable entry point into IT, for example, long-term unemployed women, women with a migration background, and women who want to change careers.
How did the project come about and what is the idea behind it?
It was an event organized by the industry association bremen digitalmedia, where the concrete idea of a matching program for IT-interested women and Bremen companies was born – between industry representatives and politicians.
The call for structures that would ensure the long-term sustainability of the matching process quickly grew louder. The perspective of companies can be incorporated through bremen digitalmedia eV's direct connection to its members. We gather the voices of interested women through motivated project partners. The matching process is facilitated by project partners ifib and ITB, who, through accompanying research projects, gain a deeper understanding of both sides. Because only when needs and requirements are clearly articulated can they be met.
The F.IT Women in IT project is funded by the Senator for Labor, Social Affairs, Youth and Integration using state funds and the European Social Fund Plus. The project is part of the state strategy for gender equality and equal pay in the workplace.
This project is good for everyone involved!
- For Bremen-based companies that need to fill vacancies and remain operational
- For women from Bremen who find a new job with us.
- For an equal society, because the more female the IT industry is, the more its solutions are tailored to the needs of women.
