The Freunde children's home is located in a district with great cultural and international diversity. The facility offers places for 60 children aged 2.8 years until they start school.
The German Red Cross children's home offers friends the opportunity to be a "place of joy and healthy development"
- Opening hours that allow for a better work-life balance.
- Part-time and full-time places
- The joint education and support of all children (inclusion)
- a partnership with the parents
The educational approach is based on the framework plan for education and upbringing, the so-called Berlin settling-in model, and the latest scientific findings in the field of early childhood education.
To define our educational goals, we ask ourselves the following questions:
- What do children need for their development today?
- What do children in this catchment area need?
Comfortable group rooms and a family-like atmosphere ensure that children feel at ease and can learn independently. A stimulating environment and the children's participation in decisions promote their self-directed learning. Through a wide range of indoor and outdoor movement activities, we specifically support the child's overall development.
The children's center has a strong network and regularly collaborates with many different institutions, such as the surrounding elementary schools and kindergartens, the PrimaverA daycare center, the community center, and the Mobile family center. To make transitions smoother, joint projects are held with the PrimaverA daycare center and the nearby elementary school.
