The Stadt.Teil.Raum (City.Part.Space) was planned and implemented by the building and housing groups of Waller Mitte and opened in the summer of 2023. In addition to the housing projects, where people can live communally, in solidarity, and self-governed, the Stadt.Teil.Raum is a place for the neighborhood, the district, and the general public.
The project aims to promote encounters and exchange within the neighborhood in an accessible way and to offer alternatives to our resource-intensive consumer society. This creates a space where climate protection can be practiced in everyday life and where people can work together actively for sustainable, future-oriented urban development.
Currently, there are regular self-help workshops for woodworking and bicycles, a cargo bike rental service, and workshops. Plans also include a program focusing on climate justice and sustainability, and a repair café for electronics and textiles.
