WOHN:SINN is an alliance for inclusive living in German-speaking countries. It advocates for people with disabilities to live self-determined lives in active community with others, for example in inclusive shared apartments, co-housing communities or neighborhoods.

Inclusion is at home here

At WOHN:SINN, "inclusive living" refers to the ability of people with disabilities to live independently and together with others. A lived experience of community and individualized support in daily life create comfortable and welcoming environments – for example, in a shared apartment, a co-housing community, or an active neighborhood.

Inclusive shared apartments are particularly popular and have existed for over 30 years. What is it like to live in an inclusive shared apartment? What alternatives are there? How can you implement an inclusive living arrangement and contribute to making our society more inclusive? You can find this and much more on the WOHN:SINN website.

Your partner for all things inclusive living

Currently, there are only a few inclusive housing options. Therefore, one focus of the alliance is to support private groups, young associations, disability service providers, housing providers, and many others in establishing their own inclusive housing models: They receive information about their options, are networked with like-minded individuals, benefit from the alliance's knowledge and experience, and receive support in implementing their ideas.

WOHN:SINN is also there for you during the start-up phase and in ongoing operations: With advice and project support, they assist with inclusion and processes in your project, help with change processes and offer you the opportunity to exchange ideas with others, e.g. through the sponsor circles or peer consultation of specialists.

The advisors at the regional offices all have extensive experience with inclusive housing projects. They have either founded a project themselves or worked for many years in a management position within an inclusive housing model. The WOHN:SINN map shows who is responsible for your area. Furthermore, the regional offices have specific areas of expertise, so depending on the topic, a different regional office may provide additional support.
