Home visiting program for families with infants
TippTapp is a counseling and support service offered by the Bremen Public Health Department for young families. The counseling is provided by qualified healthcare professionals during home visits to the families.
We support new mothers, fathers, and other family members during the first steps with their newborn. Our consultations are provided by experienced healthcare professionals. We will visit you at home three times during your child's first year: shortly after birth, when your child is 6 months old, and when your child turns 1. Our visits are voluntary, free of charge, and confidential.
Please note: We automatically receive your child's data from the registration authorities after birth, so that we can offer you our advice and support immediately after the birth.
What do we do?
- Individual consultation: regarding the needs of the child and the family.
- Information about childhood illnesses, preventive check-ups, vaccinations and dangers.
- Advice on topics such as breastfeeding and complementary feeding, baby sleep, care and development. Upon request, we can connect families with suitable services in the neighborhood (Early Intervention).
Who can use our service?
We support all families with infants in their first year of life who live in the neighborhoods we serve. If home visits are not desired, we also offer consultations by phone or during walks together.
