Trauma pedagogy
Trauma pedagogy, also called pedagogy of the safe place, applies the findings of modern psychotraumatology and trauma therapy to educational and counselling work with traumatized individuals and their environment.
Their primary task is to stabilize those affected and to promote self-control and self-efficacy. Furthermore, trauma-informed pedagogy provides professionals with competence, confidence, the ability to act, and relief when working with traumatized individuals.
Here's how you can benefit from our offer:
Trauma-informed pedagogy empowers professionals by providing practical strategies for their everyday work. It gives them
- Competence
includes up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge about trauma, as well as a deeper understanding of trauma-related stress reactions. - Safety
and appropriate handling of trauma in both children and adolescents as well as adults - The ability to act
and the expanded scope of action offered through the teaching and practice of practical methods provide suggestions and impulses instead of escalations and crises in everyday life. - Relief:
Knowledge of possibilities and limitations, as well as effective self-care strategies, reduces the risk of burnout and secondary traumatization.

About Us
The institute employs a multi-person, multidisciplinary team of consultants. It consists of psychologists, social workers, and special education teachers – all, of course, with extensive additional qualifications in trauma-informed pedagogy.
Our work incorporates many years of professional experience in both inpatient and outpatient educational settings, as well as in specialist services and counseling centers. From this practical experience, we know how important it is to integrate current findings in psychotraumatology with practical strategies for action. This is precisely our stated goal – both in our seminars and in our consultations.
A hallmark of our training courses: We conduct particularly substantial modules with two instructors. The presence of two competent seminar leaders allows for intensive work with the participants. Furthermore, this approach enables us to cover a broader range of knowledge and experience – and last but not least, it simply makes the courses more varied.
Networking and exchange are important to us. We are founding members of the BAG Traumapädagogik (Federal Association for Trauma Pedagogy) and participate in the continuous development of certified curricular training programs as well as in quality assurance of continuing education courses.
Here at the institute, we are absolutely convinced of the possibilities and effectiveness of trauma-informed pedagogy. We therefore teach it with enthusiasm and want to inspire others with it.
