District: Oberneuland

The Hermann Hildebrand House in Bremen Oberneuland is a residential child and youth welfare facility for infants, children and adolescents.

The Hermann Hildebrand House youth welfare facility is run by the non-profit association VEREIN BREMER SÄUGLINGSHEIME (Association of Bremen Infant Homes), which was granted legal status in Bremen in 1946 by state decree. The association, which even today relies entirely on civic engagement, operated four children's homes in Bremen from 1946 onwards and, until the 1970s, was almost exclusively concerned with the care of infants and their mothers.

With evolving needs, the association is now an independent provider and part of Bremen's youth welfare system. Within this framework, the Hermann Hildebrand House offers a range of services for children and young people, in accordance with the association's statutes and tailored to the current needs in Bremen. The Bremen Infant Homes Association is headquartered at the Hermann Hildebrand House, located at Vinnenweg 51 in Bremen-Oberneuland. Members' meetings and board meetings are also held there.

Funds for a good cause out of social responsibility: The Hermann Hildebrand House Children's Home Foundation, established in 2001, supports and promotes the socially and civically beneficial work of the Hermann Hildebrand House institutions. The foundation is based at the Hermann Hildebrand House in Bremen-Oberneuland.
