The German Child Protection Association, Bremen State Association, is committed to the rights, protection and promotion of children and young people.
The aim of the work is to enable a violence-free upbringing, social participation, and better living conditions for children and families. The association is also active at the political level, advocating for the strengthening of children's rights and the improvement of child-friendly structures in Bremen.
The services offered include advice and support for children, young people, and families, as well as expert consultation for professionals and volunteers working with children and young people. Professionals receive support with questions regarding child protection, suspected child endangerment according to Section 8a of the German Social Code, Book VIII (SGB VIII), and the development of intervention and action strategies. Furthermore, the German Child Protection Association (Kinderschutzbund) offers training courses, specialist events, and prevention programs on the topics of child protection, children's rights, and violence prevention.
Another focus is on promoting and implementing children's rights. The Bremen Youth and Children's Rights Office informs, advises, and connects professionals and institutions, supporting them in anchoring children's rights in their fields of work.
The Bremen Child Protection Association works together with institutions, specialist agencies and cooperation partners to provide needs-based support for children, young people and families and to further develop sustainable structures for child protection in Bremen.
