Education from a child's perspective – project work in the context of the Bremen education plan

Project work is considered one of the most effective ways to holistically promote children's learning in the elementary sector – provided that it is truly geared towards the interests and needs of the children.

The new educational concepts of the state of Bremen clearly emphasize that educational processes in early childhood should be individualized, relevant to children's lives, and participatory. They encourage professionals to seize upon learning opportunities from children's everyday experiences and specifically link them to the development of competencies. This professional development course supports you in initiating and implementing child-centered projects with children aged 0-6 – both as a response to children's impulses and as a structured pedagogical intervention. In this process, all areas of learning become visible in their interconnectedness. The aim is to understand project work not only as a method but also as an attitude – with a view to a sustainable and coherent educational biography, including during the transition to primary school.
