Midday presentation for consultants and organizations

Media are now a part of everyday life – even for children in daycare. But how can we make this everyday life with (or despite) media healthy? And what role do daycare centers play in this?

Wednesday, September 16, 2026, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Frozen during morning circle time, Fireman Sam in the outdoor play area, or conversations about their current favorite game – media has long been part of the everyday lives of kindergarten children. But what significance does this have for their health and development? And what role can kindergartens play in this?

While many training courses focus on media education or digital media in daycare centers, this lunchtime presentation focuses on a previously little-noticed perspective: the health effects of media on children of daycare age.

Based on scientific findings and typical situations from everyday kindergarten life, we will examine, among other things, the following questions:

  • How do media affect children and why do studies contradict each other?
  • How do kindergarten children experience and process media?
  • Why should educators in daycare centers address the topic of media and health?
