The state association of pro familia Bremen eV, with its three counselling centres, has been dedicated for some time to the prevention, counselling and training on the topic of female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) on behalf of the Senatorial Authority for Health and Women through educational work and specialist advice both at the institutional level and in counselling work.
To ensure the greatest possible safety when dealing with this complex topic in social and medical fields of work, and to protect threatened and affected individuals, we offer professionals not only consultations but also information events focusing on the following areas:

- Legal provisions
- attitude
- Sensitivity in dealing with affected or threatened girls, women* and parents
- Preventive measures
