To strengthen our team, we are immediately seeking a qualified educational professional (m/f/d) with a degree in social pedagogy or a comparable qualification. This part-time position comprises eight hours per week and is limited until December 31, 2026.

The Bremen district association is one of the largest branches of the German Red Cross (DRK) and currently employs approximately 1,400 people in a wide variety of fields. Guided by the principles of humanity, the association is committed to the life, health, well-being, protection, peaceful coexistence, and dignity of all people.

The German Red Cross (DRK) youth center "Rote Haus," located in the Neue Vahr Nord district, offers space for many young people aged 10 to 21. It features recreational facilities such as a billiards room, table tennis, foosball, a poker corner, a disco room, internet access, and a communal kitchen. The team regularly organizes leisure activities, holiday programs, trips abroad, and youth education initiatives together with the young people. It is a vibrant hub for young people in the Vahr district, offering not only an open-door policy but also music education and support services.

The advertised position involves working as part of the "open door" program on two afternoons a week.

A dedicated local team works together to create a varied, appreciative and motivating work atmosphere/work design.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Implementation of youth support according to SGB VIII primarily within the framework of the “open door” program
  • Targeted extracurricular youth education programs
  • Sports and exercise programs
  • Participation in and support of holiday program activities/ youth education excursions etc.
  • Substitute duties for teammates
  • Planning and organization of media education and leisure education projects and activities
  • Care and support of young people
  • Building relationships with visitors to the house
  • Support and guidance for young people facing personal, academic, and social challenges
  • Promoting media literacy and creative skills among young people
  • Creating spaces where young people can develop their creativity and interests
  • Organization of workshops and events on current youth issues with cooperation partners or associations

  • A completed degree in social pedagogy or social work with state recognition, a completed training as an educator or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
  • Professional experience in child and youth services is desirable
  • An open-minded attitude towards different people and their individual issues; commitment, flexibility, empathy, teamwork, resilience, social skills, sense of responsibility and coordination skills
  • Identification with the principles of the Red Cross
