To strengthen our team at zsb, we are looking for a social work assistant or childcare worker (m/f/d) for our BeLeM project in Bremen-Neustadt, starting as soon as possible. This is a part-time position with 25-30 hours per week. The employment contract will initially be a temporary replacement for someone on sick leave. The duration of the replacement will depend on the return of the person being replaced.
The Bremen district association is one of the largest branches of the German Red Cross (DRK) and currently employs approximately 1,400 people in a wide variety of fields. The BeLeM project (Vocational Life Planning for Young Mothers) is a collaborative project between the German Red Cross's Center for School and Career (zsb) and the General Vocational School (ABS). BeLeM operates directly at the ABS branch in the Neustadt district and supports young mothers without a school-leaving certificate in actively shaping their future while raising their children. As part of their participation in the project, the young mothers obtain their school-leaving certificate and receive socio-educational support, while their children are cared for in the childcare group located in the school building.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Care, support and provision for children
- Support with personal care
- Care-related household tasks
- Collaboration with parents and the teaching team
- Reflection on pedagogical work

We would like you to:
- Completed training as a social education assistant or childcare worker with state recognition or a comparable qualification
- Ideally, relevant professional experience in pedagogical work with children from the 3rd month of life
- Enjoyment of working with children aged between 3 months and 3 years and the predominantly underage, school-age and single young mothers
- A respectful and accepting attitude towards the children and their mothers
- The willingness and ability to cooperate with the BeLeM project team, the school and other institutions in the interest of the children and their mothers
- Identification with the principles of the Red Cross
