The Bremen branch of the German Red Cross (DRK) is seeking a dedicated social worker (m/f/d) for our family-oriented services in Bremen-Hemelingen, starting as soon as possible. You can look forward to varied work in a diverse field. The position is for 19.5 hours per week and is permanent.
The Bremen district association is one of the largest associations of the German Red Cross (DRK) and currently employs around 1,400 people in a wide variety of fields. Guided by the principles of humanity, it is committed to life, health, well-being, protection, peaceful coexistence, and the dignity of all people.
We have been supporting the Hemelingen district for many years as an established institution with our family-oriented and community-based services and facilities. In conjunction with our German Red Cross (DRK) children's center, Kinderhaus Kleine Marsch, we are planning to expand our range of family support and counseling services.
Your responsibilities include, in particular:
- Development and establishment of needs-based support services for families, taking into account socio-spatial needs
- Further development and strengthening of existing concepts and services
- Expansion and maintenance of networks in the district
- Conception, development and support of parent education programs with active involvement of parents
- Advice, guidance and support for parents in matters of upbringing and development
- Cooperation and networking with other organizations and institutions in the social space
- Trusting and resource-oriented collaboration with the facility managers and the pedagogical teams

We would like you to:
- Completed studies in social pedagogy, social work or a comparable field with state recognition or an equivalent qualification
- Ideally, professional experience working with families, parents, or in a socio-spatial context
- Strong communication and consulting skills, as well as enjoyment in working with families
- A respectful, resource-oriented and culturally sensitive approach in working with parents
- Experience in networking and the ability to actively build and develop collaborations
- Knowledge and methodological competence in parent education, parent counselling and the participation of children and families
- Independent, structured and dedicated work style
- Teamwork skills, organizational skills and a high degree of initiative
- Identification with the principles and values of the German Red Cross
