The survey by LVG & AFS is aimed at professionals in the fields of healthcare, social work, community work, and related professions. It seeks to gather insights into experiences, opinions, and needs regarding UV and heat-related health risks in contact with pregnant women and parents of babies/toddlers. Participation is possible until May 31st.

Since February 2026, the new project "Climate Health Around Birth & Early Childhood" implemented under the umbrella of the State Association for Health and Academy for Social Medicine Lower Saxony (LVG & AFS). The project aims to strengthen the health literacy of pregnant women and (expectant) parents of infants and toddlers with regard to heat and UV protection. A particular focus is placed on families in socially disadvantaged circumstances.

To implement the project, the two project managers, Larissa Federmann and Finnja Lindemann, are using a multiplier approach, targeting professionals who are regularly in contact with the target group, including those working in obstetrics, family support, and social work in institutions and neighborhoods. Plans include training opportunities, the (further) development of accessible informational materials, and networking among these stakeholders. Upcoming training sessions on the topic of heat and pregnancy will take place on May 27 and June 11, 2026.

Participation in the survey takes approximately 10 minutes, is voluntary, and until May 31, 2026. The survey results will help to develop targeted training programs, informational materials, and networking initiatives.
