The German Red Cross (DRK) Bremen branch is immediately seeking a full-time (39 hours per week) educational professional (m/f/d) for its migration counselling service. The position is initially limited to a term ending December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

The Center for Social Services (zsb) is a cooperative institution at the intersection of youth welfare, schools, and the world of work. Its mission is to provide targeted support at the earliest possible stage to ensure the long-term educational and qualification success of young people. The Migration Counseling for Adults (MBE) is aimed at immigrants aged 27 and older. Its goal is to provide individualized support to those seeking advice on everyday life and integration issues, as well as on matters related to residency, social welfare, and the labor market, and to develop future prospects together.

Your tasks:

  • Advice and support for adult immigrants within the framework of MBE
  • Support with questions regarding residence, work, education, language, housing and social services
  • Individual integration planning as well as referral and network advice
  • Documentation of the consultation processes in accordance with funding requirements
  • Collaboration with authorities, advice centers and other network partners
  • Participation in the needs-based further development of the service
  • Participation in team and case discussions

We would like you to:

  • A completed degree in social work, social pedagogy or a comparable educational qualification
  • Experience working with people with a migration or refugee background
  • Basic knowledge of immigration, social security and labor market law, or the willingness to familiarize oneself with these topics
  • Strong consulting skills and experience in individual case work
  • Confident handling of documentation and common office software
  • Language skills (e.g., English or other native languages) are an advantage
  • A self-reliant, structured and reliable work ethic
  • Empathy, intercultural sensitivity and an appreciative attitude
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Resilience and a professional approach to complex consulting situations
  • Willingness to network and cooperate in the social space
