Take on responsibility in an effective integration project: The German Red Cross (DRK) Bremen branch is seeking a Project Manager (m/f/d) for "WWK – Wegweiserkurse in Bremen" (WWK – Orientation Courses in Bremen) starting July 1, 2026. This is a part-time position with 21.5 hours per week. The employment contract is limited until June 30, 2029, with the possibility of extension.

The Bremen District Association of the German Red Cross (DRK) is one of the largest associations within the DRK and currently employs approximately 1,400 people in a wide variety of fields. The Center for School and Career (zsb), operated by the Bremen District Association of the DRK, has been working for many years at the intersection of youth services, schools, and the world of work. It implements project-funded programs in the areas of counseling, education, integration, and participation, cooperating closely with governmental and civil society actors. The aim of its work is to promote social participation, strengthen educational pathways, and support people in accessing training, employment, and the labor market.

The "WWK – Wayfinding Courses in Bremen" project organizes and coordinates low-threshold orientation and information courses for newly arrived third-country nationals. The aim is to provide participants with essential information for everyday life and key aspects of social life in Germany in their native language as soon as possible after their arrival. The courses are conducted by qualified cultural mediators and are based on a nationally standardized curriculum. The project is implemented in Bremen and Bremerhaven and works closely with accommodations, authorities, and cooperation partners. The project runs for 36 months.

As project manager, you will assume overall professional, organizational, and administrative responsibility for the "WWK – Orientation Courses in Bremen" project and coordinate the collaboration with all participating stakeholders.

Your future tasks as project manager will include:

  • Overall coordination and management of the project, including time, action and resource planning
  • Organization and implementation of the orientation courses in Bremen, including deployment planning for cultural mediators
  • Professional guidance, instruction and support for cultural mediators
  • Coordination and collaboration with the project sponsor, funding providers and local cooperation partners
  • Monitoring of project implementation, quality assurance and further development of the service structure
  • Documentation, reporting and participation in the settlement of grant funds
  • Organization and support of exchange sessions, voting formats and networking meetings
  • Supporting public relations and participating in project-related events

We would like you to:

  • Completed university degree, e.g. in social sciences, education, pedagogy or cultural studies, or a comparable qualification
  • Experience in leading, coordinating or managing projects, ideally in a migration or integration-related context
  • Knowledge of funding opportunities, especially for publicly funded projects
  • Experience in collaborating with various stakeholders, e.g., authorities, organizations and independent initiatives
