Gain 900 hours of practical experience in childcare and prepare for your training as an educator!
The need for qualified social education professionals in childcare remains high. With "Pro KiTa II," you will gain 900 hours of practical experience in a daycare center, creating an important prerequisite for a new career or a career change into the field of education. You will sign a fixed-term employment contract with a daycare center and receive a salary. After successful completion of the program, you can begin your training to become a state-certified early childhood educator in mid-2027.

Requirements for participation
You can participate in the "Pro KiTa II" program…
- if you are interested in working in early childhood education and possess a high degree of social competence, teamwork skills and empathy.
- if you would like to pursue further training as an educator on a part-time basis from mid-2027 onwards.
- if you have a secondary school leaving certificate (Realschule) and a three-year vocational training or a school leaving certificate from another country equivalent to a university entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife/Abitur) or a university entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife/Abitur).
- if you can prove German language skills at level B2.
- if you are older than 25 years.
- if you can prove complete measles protection and an extended certificate of good conduct without entries (proof also possible after acceptance into the program).
- If you are registered as a jobseeker, either without receiving benefits or receiving unemployment benefit I (ALG I). Unfortunately, it is not possible to accept unemployed persons receiving citizen's allowance or those supplementing their income with additional benefits.
- if you do not have a (or recognized) professional qualification or have not been working in your learned profession for more than four years.
In order to include you in the program, we need a current CV and proof of your school and educational qualifications.
Contents
In the "Pro KiTa II" program, we collaborate with various daycare centers in Bremen that will employ you on a temporary basis – part-time or full-time – to complete the required 900 hours of training. During this training, you will be supported by a qualified early childhood educator at the daycare center. After completing the 900 hours, we will support you in transitioning to vocational training or retraining to become a certified early childhood educator.
In the daycare center, you will support the childcare professionals in all aspects of daily life, including creative and play activities, field trips, and mealtimes. Key topics include, for example:
- Support and guidance for educational programs
- Support and assistance in everyday situations (care, eating, …)
- Preparing for and following up on excursions
- Preparing and following up on exercise programs
- Support with household chores
