The German Red Cross (DRK) Bremen branch is seeking a Deputy Head of Child and Youth Welfare Services (m/f/d) to start on September 1, 2026. This is a full-time position (39 hours per week). In this permanent role, you will be responsible for the professional development of services and will work with a dedicated team to shape the future of child and youth welfare services.

Your responsibilities include, in particular:
- Professional management and further development of child and youth welfare services (residential and outpatient)
- Advice and support for team leaders as well as guidance for complex case processes
- Deputy to the department head in professional, personnel and organizational matters
- Ensuring educational quality and implementing the legal requirements according to SGB VIII
- Cooperation with youth welfare offices, funding bodies and other network partners
- Participation in personnel development, personnel deployment planning, and training and further education measures
- Support with budget planning, salary calculation and the economic management of the department
- Further development of concepts, quality standards and offerings in accordance with regional needs
- Participation in projects and the design of change and digitalization processes

We would like you to:
- Completed studies in social work, social pedagogy or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional and management experience in child and youth welfare services, particularly in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Experience in calculating and negotiating fees for social services, as well as a good understanding of business administration
- Strong leadership, communication and conflict resolution skills, as well as a confident and professional demeanor
- Organizational skills, a sense of responsibility, and a structured, solution-oriented approach to work
- Enjoyment of collaborating with youth welfare offices, funding bodies and other cooperation partners, as well as expanding existing networks
- Identification with the values of the German Red Cross and the goals of child and youth welfare
