In this two-day training course on the topic of "Democracy Education with Children Aged 0-6 Years", we consider complaints as an expression of participation and as a component of lived children's rights.

Together, we will explore the possibilities of perceiving and professionally supporting complaint processes and reflect on the current implementation of complaint management in your professional practice.

You can participate in the training course…

  • if you work as an educational professional in a daycare center, nursery or in childminding with children aged 0-6 years

You have the option of booking this training course as educational leave. The course is recognized under the Bremen Educational Leave Act of December 18, 1974 (Bremen Law Gazette, p. 348 – as amended). To take educational leave in Bremen, you can proceed as follows:

  • You apply for educational leave from your employer for this training course.
  • On our registration form, please indicate that you are booking this training course as educational leave and have applied for it with your employer. You will then receive a registration confirmation from us specifying the educational leave to submit to your employer.
  • Your employer will approve your educational leave.
  • After the training event, you will receive a certificate of participation, which you can present to your employer as proof.

  • What is a complaint? How and by what criteria can I recognize a complaint?
  • Complaints as a right to participation and protection: How do I inform children about their rights?
  • When language is (still) lacking: Perceiving and understanding complaints
  • The relationship between participation, complaints and self-education processes in crèche, daycare and childminding
  • Analysis of the implementation of the existing complaint management system in their institution
  • Development of concrete steps for further development and practical implementation

Lecturer Daniel Frömbgen is a state-certified educator and holds a Master's degree in Childhood Studies. He is also a certified facilitator for participation in daycare centers and has many years of professional experience in leading pedagogical positions and in training and professional development. He is involved in the "bestimmt bunt" project of the German Children's Fund (DKHW) and is a member of the expert commissions of the Wiff initiative of the German Youth Institute (DJI) on the topics of "Children in Poverty," "Educational Access and Participation," and "Health Promotion in Daycare Centers.".
