Immigrant care workers in the state of Bremen – Providing good support in the areas of recognition, training and integration

Conference

Monday, May 26, 2025 | 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m

Location: Cultural Hall of the Bremen Chamber of Employees, Bürgerstr. 1, 28195 Bremen

Caregivers with their own migration background are becoming increasingly important as skilled and support staff. In the last ten years alone, the proportion of caregivers with foreign citizenship has risen from five to 15 percent. Among support staff, at almost 30 percent, the figure is significantly higher than among skilled workers, at around ten percent.

This development is not only an enrichment and important support for nursing care in the state of Bremen. It also brings with it new needs for action and support in the areas of recognition processes, workplace and social integration, and vocational training. This is because the number of immigrants, particularly among trainees, is increasing even more sharply.

In lectures and workshops, we would like to take a look together at the key areas of action in the state of Bremen and discuss possibilities for improvement.

Here, PLAYING is the main focus!

Continuing education for therapeutic professionals and early intervention specialists

Relationship-oriented autism intervention

Dates: Thursday and Friday, March 27-28, 2025, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

André Zirnsak – course no. 2025-10

Playing is fun AND essential for all developmental processes. However, autistic children sometimes have difficulty developing even basic play skills, such as exploring and experimenting. Consequently, they often find it difficult or impossible to engage in cooperative play with peers and adults.

For the children themselves, and of course for their caregivers, it is a considerable challenge to establish carefree interactions, develop a joy in activities and play, and, above all, to navigate group situations. In this seminar you will receive:

  • Access to or reactivation of one's own enjoyment of playing
  • Knowledge about the importance of play for child development
  • Introductions to theoretical models that help in designing play activities for autistic children (DIRFloortime method, SELF-REG, Waldon approach, therapeutic puppetry)
  • The importance of containment in therapeutic processes with autistic children and their families
  • Suggestions for working with parents
  • A presentation of the practical implementation of the models in different settings using video examples and exercises

Participants are encouraged to engage in ongoing discussion throughout the course and are encouraged to contribute their own case studies. By the end of the course, each participant should be able to apply the course content to their work, both theoretically and practically, and put it into practice.

Location: Nordsee Hotel, Bremerhaven Fishing Port, Am Schaufenster 7, 27572 Bremerhaven

Application deadline: March 13, 2025

Cost: €390.00 including seminar materials and catering

André Zirnsak, Dipl.-Heilpäd. (FH), works in his own practice in Berlin as a play therapist, supervisor and coach with many years of experience in working with autistic children and their families as well as in further education.
