The Citizen Information Service is an easily accessible, open information point, essentially an extension of the citizen hotline. It is located in the West City Library.
The Citizen Information Service is located in the West City Library. Here, citizens can obtain personal information about all administrative services, how to contact government offices, and the documents required. The goal is to reduce barriers for citizens by increasing accessibility. Staff members provide personal information about all administrative services, how to contact government offices, and the documents required. They also assist with any difficulties in understanding information, schedule appointments with authorities, and demonstrate how to use online services.
The BIS offers the following:
- Information on all services available on the service portal
- Information on all standardized service descriptions available in the 115 knowledge management system of the citizen hotline
- Support in using online services, help for self-help
- the scheduling of appointments for citizens
- Printing forms
- Assistance with difficulties understanding "officialese" (e.g., support with difficulties understanding forms or problems understanding official letters).
- Contact with the Bremen authorities
- If required, referral to external service providers from our special databases
Furthermore, we collaborate within networks with relevant bodies both within and outside the administration. We offer ourselves as a communication partner, specifically, but not exclusively, within specific neighborhoods.
