If you have already completed a degree or vocational training in a related field, you can pursue part-time professional development with us to become a qualified early childhood educator and work as a group leader in Bremen's daycare centers and nurseries. From day one, you will work in the daycare center, receive payment for your time, and simultaneously acquire the necessary expertise in early childhood education through various modules. Upon successful completion, you can work as a group leader in the early childhood sector in the state of Bremen.

Requirements for participation:
Who can participate in the qualification program for career changers with relevant professional experience for the early childhood education sector?
- Individuals with a university or university of applied sciences degree in education as a major or minor subject (Diploma, Magister, Master, Bachelor and teachers with a first state examination, Bachelor, Master)
- Individuals with a university or university of applied sciences degree in a related field
- People with a relevant professional qualification (e.g. occupational and work therapist, deaconess, ergotherapist, midwife/obstetrician, art teacher, speech therapist, motor therapist, music teacher, physiotherapist, sports teacher, drama teacher)
- Individuals with a qualification as a childcare worker or social education assistant plus five years of professional experience and regular participation in further training
If a daycare center or nursery hires you and supports the qualification, the operator and the Senatorial Authority for Children and Education will check whether you can participate in the qualification.
