Advice and support in case of problems in contact with the youth welfare office or the institution
If you need advice and support because you are experiencing problems in your contact with the youth welfare office, a child and youth welfare institution, or your foster family, then you can come to us for advice.
You will receive independent advice from us
If you are already receiving support from the youth welfare office, for example, if you live in a group home or foster family, or if you would like to apply for support from the youth welfare office for the first time, we offer independent advice. This can help if there are problems between you and the youth welfare office or a service provider. Perhaps you don't understand some of the youth welfare office's decisions? Then we will inform you about your rights and the procedures within the youth welfare system and advise you on your specific case.
You can call us or send us a message via WhatsApp, our contact form, or chat. We'll usually then schedule an in-person appointment. This appointment will include an initial consultation. If you have any documents, such as official notices or support plans, we can review them together. At the end of the conversation, we'll suggest possible next steps. You then decide which support you'd like to accept.
Who can inform me about my rights in youth welfare services?
We offer the following support options for you:
- General information on child welfare services, including on the topic of integration assistance according to § 35a SGB VIII (e.g. Who is entitled to it? How do I submit an application?).
- Information on co-determination and participation rights in care planning
- Advice for problems between you and the youth welfare office or the institution that supports you
- Accompaniment to a meeting at the youth welfare office or your institution
- Assistance with the formulation of applications or appeals
