Hans-Wendt gGmbH is seeking a Pedagogical Director (m/f/d) for a permanent position of 30 hours per week, starting immediately. The Pedagogical Director supports and guides the children's centers in their professional and conceptual work and manages the qualitative pedagogical development of the centers and Hans Wendt gGmbH.

We are immediately seeking a Pedagogical Director (m/f/d) for a permanent position of 30 hours per week. The Pedagogical Director supports and guides the children's centers in their professional and conceptual work and manages the qualitative pedagogical development of the centers and the Hans Wendt gGmbH. Your tasks

  • Overall professional supervision for the staff of approximately 11 daycare centers. 
  • Promoting independence and personal responsibility in the management actions of managers in daycare centers. 
  • Expansion and professional development of needs-based childcare and collaborative family work in daycare centers. 
  • Responsibility for innovation, concept and quality development and quality assurance of educational work, development of quality standards. 
  • Representation of Hans Wendt gGmbH at public events and conferences, active participation in local and regional networks. 
  • Contributing to the design of innovative and future-oriented processes for the entire company. 
  • Responsible management of crisis processes, conflict support, conflict resolution and complaint management. 
  • Planning, coordination and support of specialist events. 
  • Close cooperation with the management, the heads of the daycare centers and the administrative offices within the company, as well as with the Bremen authorities. 
  • Advising management on pedagogical, legal, personnel, educational policy and professional issues. 
  • Taking on cross-cutting tasks, participating in committees. 


This is what we expect from you

  • A qualified university degree in education, e.g., in early childhood education, educational sciences with a focus on early childhood education, social sciences with a focus on early childhood and adult education, or an equivalent qualification. We require sound practical experience in designing and managing change processes. 
  • Sound knowledge of educational and developmental psychology theory in the elementary and primary education sector, especially regarding the educational and learning processes of children. 
  • Expertise in the key areas of everyday integrated language education, inclusive pedagogy, collaboration with families, digitalization and media education. 
  • Experience in the field of daycare centers. 
  • High consulting expertise and methodological diversity in the support and moderation of working groups/teams, as well as high dialogue skills. 
  • Conceptual thinking, competence in writing down concepts and guidelines. 
  • Empathy, especially in intercultural contexts, and experience with diversity approaches. 
  • Secure application of legal principles (SGB VIII, BremKTG, BremAGKJHG, RiBTK). 
  • Experience in crisis management.
