This training course provides you with the professional and practical knowledge to support children with special needs in crèches, kindergartens, or childminding settings. We will discuss topics such as inclusion, diversity, discrimination, and equal opportunities, and show you specific strategies for inclusive work.

You can participate in the training course…
- if you work as an educational professional in a daycare center, nursery or childminding service with children aged 0 to 6 years.
- if you want to design developmental spaces and educational processes for children in an inclusive and equitable way.
Contents:
- Module 1: Inclusion and equal opportunities – pedagogical, legal and institutional foundations in childcare (Lecturer: Juliane Jürgensohn, certified social worker and multiplier for prejudice-aware education)
- Module 2: Societal dimensions of diversity and pedagogical practice concepts of inclusive work in early childhood education (Lecturer: Juliane Jürgensohn, certified social pedagogue and multiplier for prejudice-aware education)
- Module 3: Systemic understanding of inclusion and equal opportunities in educational fields (Lecturers: Franziska Herzog-Sterionow, MA Preventive Social Work and systemic consultant and Sandra Spratte, Dipl.-Sozialpädagogin and B. Sc. Psychology, systemic child, adolescent and family therapist and trauma therapist)
- Module 4: Advanced module on specific challenges of inclusive practice in early childhood education (selected lecturers with professional expertise, e.g. in the fields of children with impairments and (impending) disabilities, children with multilingualism, migration and refugee experience, children from families at risk of poverty, children with challenging behavior or families with experiences of discrimination)
- Module 5: Conclusion, reflection and peer consultation (Lecturers: Franziska Herzog-Sterionow, MA Preventive Social Work and systemic consultant and Juliane Jürgensohn, Dipl.-Sozialpädagogin and multiplier for prejudice-aware education)
