Company leeway for good working conditions and federal policy restrictions: Interim assessment

The pilot project "I'm nursing again because..." has been running in the maternity ward of St. Joseph-Stift Hospital since the beginning of 2024, funded by the European Social Fund Plus and the State of Bremen. Its aim is to retain and attract nurses and midwives to the profession by providing good working conditions.

We want to take stock at the project's halfway point.

  • To what extent can we observe improvements in job satisfaction and workload in the model areas?
  • What contributed to this?
  • Which good practices can be transferred?
  • And how much operational leeway is left in light of the statutory health insurance cuts and their impact on nursing care in hospitals?

We would like to discuss these and other questions together with the project participants and all interested parties. There will also be a presentation.

Moderation: Wiebke Blanquett, Deputy Head of Policy Consulting, Bremen Chamber of Employees.

Presentation and discussion: Dr. Jennie Auffenberg, Policy Advisor for Health and Long-Term Care, and Linda Sweers, Project Manager of the model project "I'm providing care again because…", St. Joseph-Stift
