The Bremen family network is becoming even more multilingual: Our website is now available in a total of ten languages. Arabic, Bulgarian, Farsi, and Polish have been added.
“With this, we want to make it easier for even more families in Bremen to access information and services – regardless of which language they speak,” said Anja Lohse, head of the Bremen specialist and coordination office for family education and family support.
In addition to German, English, French, Turkish, Spanish, and Russian, the four new languages have now been integrated into both WordPress and the website's dynamic search environment. This allows users to not only read the website's content in their (native) language but also to use the search functions accordingly.
“Some special adjustments were necessary for the technical implementation. In addition to the appropriate fonts for Arabic and Cyrillic characters, the page layout now also supports the right-to-left orientation required for Arabic and Farsi. Navigation, text, and other page elements are displayed accordingly in these languages,” Barbara Peper adds regarding the technical implementation.
With this expansion, the family network Bremen aims to make information more accessible for families in the city of Bremen and to reduce language barriers.
