Whether in daycare centers, family counseling services, youth services, or migration counseling: professionals often face the challenge of making important information accessible to families, even if German is not their first language. The Bremen Family Network now offers even more support in this area.
The Bremen Family Network website is now available in ten languages. Arabic, Bulgarian, Farsi, and Polish have been added. This means that professionals can more easily draw the attention of families with different native languages to the family portal and the information and services it offers. Together, they can search for information directly in the appropriate language – or families can then continue using the portal independently.
“The new languages were integrated into both WordPress and the dynamic search environment. In addition to the appropriate fonts for Arabic and Cyrillic script, the page layout now also supports the necessary right-to-left display for Arabic and Farsi,” explains Barbara Peper from familiennetz bremen regarding the technical details.
The multilingual family portal can therefore be used very practically in everyday work: for example in consultations, in exchanges with parents in daycare centers, or when professionals want to draw families' attention to further information and suitable offers.
Our tip for professionals: Try out the different language versions yourself and also show the family portal to families for whom German-language information presents a hurdle. This way, the portal can help make information more easily accessible and support families in their independent search for suitable services.
